looking at the schematics some more the white wire feeds the main fuse board

I have 2 wires at the battery terminal that the heater relay fuse is, one is black, the other is white, both about the same size ( pretty thick ) i don't know which one goes onto the relay fuse. I don't think they would both go onto it as if my heater relay goes and blows the fuse then whatever the other wire goes to will lose feed so i would pressume 1 of them goes straight onto the live off the battery.
A picture would paint a million words but can not find one on the interweb

yes the white wire feeds the main fuse box by looking at the diagram mate

so the white wire will go straight onto the battery and the black one must be the heater relay permanent live.
Spoke to a auto electrician today and showed him the relays he reckons that the only thing that would cause both of them to do what they did was a dead short ! if i knew what that was i could set about finding and fixing it LOL

Yes mate that's how I read the diagrams. A dead short would need to earth. Have u checked all 4 plugs I know u said they were new but u need to.check them really is has been know for them to.fail even when new

So a dead short would be something that is live touching an earth ? I will check plugs even though they are less than a thousand mile old. Is it ok that the buzz bar has surface rust on it ?
Need to find what is burning relay's before sticking another £50 one on

Surface rust is ok as long as it is clean metal where the plugs and nuts connect or thus will create resistance too. Man these trucks and electric problems I still can't get truck 2 to run due to electrics

Mine was a right puzzle when i first got it ( still is ) so after faffing about for a while i went right back to basics......fuel, air, heat, compression. The thinking being if i could confirm it had all of these then it had to be an electrical fault. Unfortunately it only had 3 out of 4 and was missing the most important one, compression, on 2 cylinders. But at least it saved me chasing shadows.
Wouldn't have a clue where to look apart from the ecu in your case, hope you get it sorted

Have you checked all the Earths Chef.....If its been sat then possibly Earth's have rusted had this on a Peugeot van at work recently. Would turn over, just never fire, turned out to be a dodgy earth.

scary as that is the point i am at with mine.... after a bit of reading on multimeters and how to use them i have tested the glow plugs after taking the rail off and they are all reading 0.08 so i would pressume my fault is not there. checked the bracket the glow ralay goes on and that has a good earth checked the earth that comes off the manifold and that is good...where about's is the main engine earth ?
I have 12.75 volts going to the glow relay with the engine off is that about right ?

there are 3 main engine earth maybe 4 follow the black thick wire from the battery and you will see points along it lenth about 2m where it is stripped to the copper and mounted to the chassis 1st one is shortly after battery to the front of the motor 2nd is lower and towards drivers side 3rd is even lower and near alternator i think.
I need to pull all mine off and check and clean them

OK i found all them and they are ok...............Don't really know where to look next as everything checks out ok. The feed to the glow relay was actually 12.45 volts and not 12.75 but i pressume that is still good. Tested it with ignition on and off and it is all ok
