tiny wee wire rope it`ll have Skot - imagine shockloading it and the feeling as its snaps and cheesewires through your upper body..... when you could have bought have a winch likes rajs new one and mine - both were about £250-70 plus vat for a 5 ton capability and non cheesewire possibilities

LezT, used a tirfor many times in fire n rescue and could pull 2 head on collision 20 tonne HGV's apart used to put a salvage sheet slung over the cable for safety.Basic kit but bloody good and easy to use.

Robert, used them a lot years ago when doing bits of work in a forest ( not to your standard Basl), just tree clearing and trunk removals. Bit manual for most but as you say, basic but easy to use and great for what theya re made for.

I have used Winch-It several times for parts ( remote controls and solenoid packs ) always found them to be a great company to deal with.

I was clearly under the mistaken impression that winches were far more expensive than they actually are! I thought somewhere along the line I saw someone selling a winch for several hundred second hand. Maybe I did, either way I haven't looked into it much. This is goo news to know I can buy a suitable 4x4 recovery winch for £300! Happy days......

you can pay £1600 plus for a warn winch yoda, and as long as you don`t want to sell it later , they are brilliant, but like violently expensive cars, they depreciate like crazy.

Ah maybe it was a Warn winch I saw then. I'm sure something like yours will more than suffice for me. Ballpark £300 would certainly accelerate the winches arrival. I'll come knocking when it's time Basil
