Just had coolant system pressure tested on a hot engine while switched off. It took 15psi happily with the only pressure drop seemingly being from the pressure kit itself, albeit very gradual. Dropped to 12 psi after 10mins. No hissing or visible dripping. What's curious though is we lost a handful of water from taking the rad cap off a hot engine, and once we removed the pressurising equipment the level in the rad had NOT dropped! Sounds like air locks. But that would be weird after 3000miles and no fluctuation of the coolant gauge. Leaving rad cap off now while I get to it's starting issues. Will bleed coolant system to check for air locks and I have some k-seal here in case I find no other answers.

Corrosion on my head bolts:

And corrison on my temp switch which sits on the same side of the head:

This isn't normal from atmospheric water entering the engine bay is it?

Looks like it's the washer in the temp switch in the last photo. You can see here is red/pink residue around it which I presume is the anti-freeze. Also the corrosion pattern is consistent with water flow. Going to rejuvenate the washer now.

Haha nope! Sand it to take the shine off and flame it until red hot then dump into cold water

Washer refitted, coolant filled and bled. All seems fine for now. We'll see over next few days.

That rust on the head bolts is normal enough. Even new ones will look like that in a couple of weeks.
Has that glow plug rail been repainted? Would be worth sanding it off by the 5 contact points if it has, may help it start a bit quicker.

It was a new rail I put in with the new engine Billy. I will try that thanks.
