Rob did the seat runners unbolt from the original seats or did you have to cut them off ?

Well I got to admit took the egr and cooler off today and feck me
She's like a new truck to be honest the egr wasn't that bad but it goes to show how they choke ya motor
Little increase in power but all in all the motor is a happier beast
So I moved onto the shogun 3.2 took hers off and I'm surprised she was still running she was caked full with like a tar like kack
Cleaned and put back on and she's like another truck as well shame you can't blank these off
But cheers guys the truck is a lot happier now

The whole seat unbolts from the floor of the truck by undoing 4x 14mm bolts (need to remove handbrake surround to get at one of them).
The seat base unbolts from the runners by undoing 4x 12mm bolts from the underside and unclipping the cable for the runner.
The back of the seat can be removed by undoing a 10mm bolt from the pivot on the seatbelt buckle side and removing 2x 14mm bolts from the reclining mechanism on the other.

Once apart, I shaved a little off the top of the outside runner with the grinder so that the reclining mechanism on the new seats wouldn't foul them. I then used some 6mm thick flat bar to mate the runner to the seat.

v nice Rob, high position is good for offroad, bod lift wont change the gearstick proximity to your leg/bolster unless you cut and shut the stem. Those seats look in good nick.

Basil

Yeah, I'm hoping to get a second hand set of levers to cut n shut when body lift happens. Seats are ok although recline function on passenger seat needs attention and they have a few small tears but nothing too major

Was busy with other cars today so only managed to get a little done...

Pretty much every time I have been off road the tow bar electrics have taken a whack so I relocated them up to the area next to the rear number plate.

word of warning Rob, if you open the tailgate and take the straps/bars off that hold it horizontal when open, the tailgate will drop down flat and sit on the little rubber thingies by the reflectors. At least that's what they are meant to do, when I tried it last (with electrics in same place) I gave my tailgate a nice new dent as pictured below ....... I didn't own up and put it in the donkey thread though

Have dropped it right down and it rests on the tow ball leaving space for the socket (my smashed tailgate handle will testify to this ).

So I see, we've both found solutions to problems that didn't exist when we got our trucks and the solutions are ......... break something unintentionally

Nothing too exciting today. Tightened the handbrake and did all filters and oil.

Tried to make a start on brake hoses but when I turn the unions they either twist the copper pipe or round off entirely Got some brake pipe and will pick up unions tomorrow then have another go.

Gave the rear of the chassis a good look over while I was under. All looks in order bar a small hole in one of the out riggers that goes to the front of the tub. Will try sort that when doing the body lift as well.

Well decided it was too nice a day to spend under the truck but I got bored.

Have long been fed up with the lack of decent speakers for the stereo and found some cheap 16.5cm vibe slick ones.
I chopped the door cards up and ran some wiring through from the back of the head unit.

Today made the trip to Dalcrue Auto Salvage who have loads of l200s that have met various types of abrupt endings

They removed this front panel off a newer truck for me. The rad mounts are going to need altered as my truck has the older smaller rad but that shouldn't be too hard.

I also got a replacement tailgate handle to sort the one that has been smashed for at least 2 years now.

Picked up a load liner too as the bed of the truck is looking tatty. Had to cut a few holes to fit with canopy clamps but not too bad.
