Identifying your ' Series ' of L200

Just to help those unsure of there series of truck ...

Different Series used the 4D56 engine but note they are not the same engine and few if any bits are transferrable!!


Series 1 - Rare! .. Engine codes unknown!

Series 2 - Rare , not quite as much as series 1 though! - Engine codes : K22 ( G63B , 2.0 Petrol,2 door, ) , K24 (4D56, 2.5 Turbo Diesel, 2 door ),
K34 ( 4D56 2.5 TD 4 door - JAP import )

Series 3 Pre facelift and facelift versions - engine codes : K64 (4D56 ,2.5 diesel & Turbo Diesel 2wd ) , K74 (4D56,2.5 D/TD 4wd ), K76 (6G72 ,3.0 petrol ),
K77 (4M40, 2.8D Import ) - 1998-2005 ( but some late registered so can be seen as late as 2010! )

Series 4 - Engine code : B40 ( 4D56,2.5 Turbo Diesel ( DiD) ) , B80 (4M41 ,3.2 DiD import ) ( Includes ' Long Bed which was 12" longer than std ) - 2006-2015

Affectionally known as Prams

Series 5 - Engine Code: KL1T (4N15, 2.4 Turbo Diesel ) - 2015-2019

Series 6 according to Mitsubishi but Series 5 facelift according to Wikipedia! ( engine code 4N14- 2.2 Mivec turbo diesel Only plus ADBLUE ) - 2019 to present

Is that series 1 photo in Aleppo?. Also think the "affectionate" name for the series 5 should be taken directly from the engine code

did have warrior, but crossed over to disco 2.
Thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, but it was somebody with a torch bringing more work!
Landies don't leak oil, they just sweat

Just to be a swot, there's actually 2 variations of the 4, and 12" makes a difference.


Anything is possible, all you need is imagination or own a bank!

ah , yes , there are indeed, but it was more for identification purposes ( and they are technically the same truck , just a longer bed ) but I will edit the info to show the Long bed in there

Hi.. Can anyone tell me why my sat nav just sits in the blue screen stage, not even the remote works. Mk4 2006 elegance with the mitsubishi head unit

That would make sense in the UK too , as its only listed as a 2.2 by Mitsi ( who clearly round down for some reason as its listed as 2268cc!). I will update it.
