Hi All -
Just joined, with my first L200 which is a well-thumbed 2006 that's worked in a garden maintenance company for the last 10 years - 104,000 miles but looks in basically good nick. It's going to be working in a woodland/offroad environment quite a bit, so the 4WD was important, and load carrying is a major part of its work so the 2-door format works well (not many of those around these days !).
Apart from fixing a squeaky brake disk and doing a service, it hasn't needed much - yet - tidying the wheels up is on the list but lower priority.
It does have one noisy tappet which I need to look at - it took me a while to realise that "4D56" covers both single and twin-cam engines - this is a twin, and now I've found the right manual it doesn't look too hard to get the cover off to measure/check things, although I'm hoping it's just an adjustment needed rather than a worn cam, given the mileage. If you've done this job (cam cover off), can you tell me what gaskets would need replacing as I do it, and can you recommend a good source for these ?
So far, loving the simplicity and solidity - the steering is really low-geared compared to other things I've drive, and who decided to make the wiper switch go 'down' to switch on, and 'up' for just a flick ? Ahhh...

The rocker cover is notorious for leaking at the rear half moon seal area. I tried other brands and ended up using Mitzy original seals and sealant in the difficult to seal corners and that solved it. Don't torque down too much as it can crack the cam cover. nik

104,000m on a 2006 is actually low mileage, my 2007 has 186,000 and still pulls like a train, has been all over Europe, sure it needs work from time to time but I trust its simplicity far more than my other newer vehicles
