Auto box towing

Hi guys, not posted for a while.. got a question, just bought a caravan, I've got a 2010 barb auto, have heard the stories of the trans temps soaring when towing, how common is this problem? I.e is it every truck that's doing it or the odd truck that could be caused by other factors? mapped/chip etc etc? I've seen a few posts but they don't seem to be massively common posts?!? Only asking as don't know whether to just go out and get my local garage to bang a cooler on before I start the season, or if it's not every truck then take it out and risk it to find out. We do tend to camp in hilly areas I e Shropshire hills and North Devon for main hols.

Cheers Ash

I tow fairly regularly in the Welsh hills, sometimes at around the 3tonne mark and I have never seen a high gearbox temp alarm and never felt any undue heat, totally standard 2007 Elegance
