2008 raging bull power/egr issues

Hi i am having problems with power in cold weather, basically there is no power in cold weather.
Car runs nicely but in temperature below about 3°c it really struggles to accelerate. In temperatures above 3 it runs better but seems to have no power at the top end,
I have replaced the suction control valve, air filter seems clean, fuel filter is clear and oil is clean and correct level
on the motorway yesterday happily cruising at 60 but if i tried to go faster or started going up hill it struggled like it was getting starved of fuel. I had egr code come up a few weeks ago and took it off to clean it but still had code so ordered new egr and on removal it had black liquid in, put new egr on and still have same problem with power but code has gone, decided it shouldn't have liquid in egr so must have faulty cooler which i have a replcement for but cannot work out how to remove it as all the bolts appear to be hidden behind it.

So question 1 is, is my guess that the liquid in egr is probably causing the power issues or does something else come to mind for anyone?

Question 2, how the hell do you remove the egr cooler please?

UPDATE...
still haven't got the cooler off and the power struggle is now happening at warmer temperatures as well and slower speeds, i have ordered a replacement fuel filter as it really does seem like it's struggling to get fuel and I'm thinking maybe the outside temperature is just a red herring.
Does anyone have any ideas please

UPDATE 2...
Changed fuel filter and taken it for a quick test and it seems much better time and monday morning cold weather will tell but fingers crossed. Still haven't had time to play hunt the bolts on the egr cooler but not losing any coolant so not so sure about my mystery black liquid

UPDATE 3...
still no coolant loss and plenty of power so definitely fuel filter was the issue, I'll save the cooler for when it inevitably breaks
