flashing light

#1 by guest ( Guest ) , Tue May 05, 2015 5:31 pm

Hi I have had the centre prop bearing replaced on my l200 warrior 2000 model. And two new tyres on the front. When truck came back it had the 4x4 light flashing when it twd but staying on in 4wd. Hey are telling me it's eather a switch which will cost me 150 or I need to have two new tyres put on the back. They say that the 6mm difference between the front and rears is causing the light to come on. Is there any truth in this or am I being taken for a fool. ? As the light wasn't on before but is now

Cheers matt

They're pulling your plonker.

You taken it in with no light, they work on the transmission , and you get it back with a warning light related to the very same transmission? Tell them to sort their mess or you'll go all Schwarzenegger on them.

sounds to me like they have knocked a vacuum pipe off or reconnected something the wrong way
I had completely different size wheels front to back on mine and it caused no 4x4 light to come on

s'pose it could be coiinky dink that the lights on , maybe the actuator is stuck...but I'd be tempted to agree with krutly...bet the vac pipe to the actuator is off...

They keep telling my is not related to what they have done. And this they have checked all the vacuum pipes and keep saying it's the switch or tyres but it's defiantly bot related to what they have done. And for some reason I don't believe them.

Would be good to have some info to throw at them like I k ow what I talking about kinda thing lol

Cheers everyone :)

They're talking out their arses. This business with tyre diameter is utterly unrelated to your problem,

completely agree Lemmy....don't see how the tyre change has caused it...however the prop bearing change would lead me to think that something has been knocked at the front....

When I got my tyres balanced on the front I got it back with a free flashing light, when it was jacked up it must have stretched a pipe or something. I replaced my pipes with some nice silicone red stuff cheap and fixed my issue.
And all my hoses were on and present but could not have been sealing on the rusty metal pipes they push onto. There all In the driver's side front wheel arch.
Tyre size stuff is a load of shite.

Cheers for the help gang. I will see what rubbish they come up with today and let u all know but if he tells me it's the tyres being different tread I will tell them where to go :)

They admit the tyres didn't make the light go out. Which we knew. It's of the mitsubishi as the think it's the actuator switch ? But are telling me it's coonpletly couinsidental and Nuffin to do with them but the parts 180 quid from Japan plus vat

Prices from Milner offroad
Actuater switch £22.50
Full actuater £115
Think there takin the p### out of you.
If the light is flashing but stays on in 4wd then both the switch and actuater work. What you have is a vac leak. They have knocked a pipe somewhere. Easy fix.
