Hi
I have bought some of the latest Osram Nightbreaker bulbs (Ultimate?) to change before winter.
Tried for some time to change them based on comprehensive handbook instructions (1. remove cover, 2. remove loom/plug, 3. replace bulb, 4. repeat backwards).
Cant even see how to get the loom/plug off the bulb without breaking it.
I have seen a couple of threads (here and elsewhere) where one will say how difficult it is and another wont mention it all.
Am I missing something? Is it the same with Classics and new shapes?
Should I just take it to Halfords and get them to fit their best bulbs and they can repair/replace any breakages?

When i replaced my bulbs, you just pull the connector off the back... I pulled the rubber off a wee bit first, then the connector off the back of the bulb.. They are a bit tight, so a wee wiggle might help... The bulb is held in place by a metal clip..

Mine is new shape but 2008 plate. I cant see how to take connector off without breaking the small clips/lugs. Instead I put them in the wife's Focus which took approx 15 minutes.

I had the same problem but it turned out to be mostly down to fear.
The cable+plug that goes into the bulb needs to be pulled away from the bulb. As in pulled. Hard.
Once you've got that away, you should be able to remove the rubber surround, push the wire clip, and remove the bulb.

I fitted night breakers in mine about a year ago - I found it very easy.
If you pull to hard, you'll end up breaking the plastic that holds the clip in place ( hinged end ) like I did on my classic

the first time mine wouldn't come out of my classic, I just bent the wire thingy enough to get the bulb out still attached to the holder and all was well. The second time I sadly forgot how I had done it previously and snapped the plastic bit that hinges the clip bit
a screw and panel fixing thingamy holds mine in place and has done for a few years now

Whats the spec of these uprated bulbs from Lez?
When I replaced the cheapo bulbs in another car with the nightbreakers I was not bowled over by the difference.
