Hi I have a problem that when I let engine idle it goes to limp mode and the traction control light comes on and the engine check light as well.... I went to a local garage and he scanned the vehicle with BLUEPRINT scan tool and he found the "suction control valve stuck" then we replaced it and it came up with the same problem....then he watched that the rail pressure keeps getting high much more than the target pressure so we took a chance and we took off the pressure regulator and cleaned it but everything kept the same...but after half an hour the problem went away and the engine could be kept idle as long as you want but I seen a lack of power and a little black smoke... Now after about 15 days the problem came back...and I don't know what to do next
same issue here - I will be taking mine to dealer to see if they can resolve issue.

Its a newshape chef.
If it does it at idle then it could be an egr issue.

Mine didn't want to rev up and had white / grey smoke.
My EGR valve fell apart, the arm had come off the leccy motor.
Mine didn't put any lights on the dash as the leccy motor was still working, the valve was stuck half open.

Hi Just wondering if you got this sorted as I am having the same problem with mine l200 DID 2007 crewcab. it is now driving me nuts!! full service done with all new filters, new suction control valve fitted, egr is not very old and has been cleaned. ecu has been checked and is fine! running out of ideas and just hope it is not going to cost to much as I have already spent a lot in trying to get to the bottom of it
any help would be great!!

I all so have a l200 animal 06 88000 miles that has been doing this once a year for the last 2 years but today it excelled its self and did it 4 times,turn it off start it and it runs as normal but with engine management light still on at mo but this normally goes off when i fill with diesel or it can be off the next day or until i take it to my mechanic and he plugs his machine in to it that normally tells him i have a fuel leak .

Has it ever had work done on it that would involve the vacuum pipes being taken off.....a Pipe in the wrong place can lead to eml at idle

No but it seems it's starving of fuel then goes in to limp mode turn key off then back on then it will be ok if rev up but when idleing comes back on

first of all i would be checking the fuel filter for restriction. second, have it running and keep pumping the primer on top of the filter to flush all air. after that i would be taking the 4 bolts out of EGR , grab the square gasket, rotate it 180deg and refit it with the bolts (this blocks 95% of the egr off and wont show eml). After that i would be checking the Air flow meter and the fuel rail pressure, if its rubbish then post the results. If your SCV keeps popping up then either its a bad replacement of scv or injectors / pump have gone south. be sure to check timing belt (top cover off) just to be sure its not slack or damaged and knocked timing slightly

also if you have a manufacture fitted tuning box (google it for l200) then disconect it and plug the origional loom in
