Lift

#1 by Newbie ( Guest ) , Mon Aug 04, 2014 10:24 pm

Hi I am looking at lifting my 2000 model l200 animal warrior. I have read a few things. But is buying the shackles for the rear and spacers for the front struts doing the same job as a 3" body lift ? Thanks matt

No different job mate. The body lift just lifts the body off of the chassis 2 INCH is the simplest.

So if I did a 3" body lift and then did a 2" suspension lift with 2" shackles at rear and 2" spacers on the struts at front this would probably give me enough lift for 33/12.50/15 tyres ? Is there any think else I will need to do or modify ? Torsion bars I have read about or wheel spacers ? Thank u very much for your help

3" body lift needs,
Extended Brake hoses, gear sticks need bending, bumper brackets and remove lower fan cowelling,
Others that have done the lift will give you more info.

Get the adjustable rear lift shackles then you can choose the lift you need, speak to LezT or there is another guy on here who makes them.

I have found a 3" lift kit on paxjun off road. Whih has all the stuff I need for the lift. If I fit this will there be any need for shackles is it ment to be on or the other ? It if I don't do the lift but get the adjustable shackles fr rear what do I do for the front ? Just the strut spacers ?

you can adjust the torsion bars (wind them up) on the front to give extra lift
strut spacers are a love it or loathe it idea, a few have done them on here but make sure you then get camber shims as they can throw the front camber right out
torsion bars/strut spacers(balljoint spacers)/lift shackles/body lift will all increase the height but unless you get larger tyres then the axles will be the same clearance

the best guy to talk to is woody as he's done all of what you plan to do and on a 2000 truck as well if I remember(and his truck looks awesome).
Just register and become a member, once registered, get upgraded by confirming your details and the whole site is available to you. It's free to join and free to upgrade so why not eh ? Not everyone gets to see this section that you've posted in so replies will be limited but post the question on the main forum and you should get plenty of advice and suggestions. I would think your budget will be quite tight but doable none the less.
hope this helps
