Just changed broadband suppliers....

2 iPhones connected wirelessly no probs
Ipad no probs
Printer no probs
1 laptop ok but the other connects in a way but doesn't load web pages.....it shows it's connected but only shows "local" connection and not "local and Internet" like the other one does.. It works fine through the Ethernet connection, I've tried all sorts in settings etc but still stumped

It's a acer' laptop running windows vista

have you tried turning it off and back on again ........... or changing the fuel filter

Your broadband router might (stupidly) be set to have a very small number of available addresses (the things it gives out to connecting devices) over wireless.

If you turn off wireless on the iThings and try to reconnect the PC, does it get any better?

is it virgin broadband..and what make laptop. i have a hewleet packard laptop, thats pretty much brand new, the reason being is that hewlett packard wifi cards appantly are not compatible with virgin media routers.....great...it could be the same as that mate....ring your isp, they should be able to help.

I thought this and tried it with the other laptop turned off and there was no difference....will try again now....thanks

Both laptops are acer's....and it through talk talk.....I tried connecting the non working laptop first....the second one connected immediately

@skotl it says connection successful but the WLAN shows Disconnected.....

That's odd. I'm assuming that the cable is physically disconnected (so LAN = disconnected is expected).

When you press the green Connect button does it come up with a message, or just returns to that screen?

One other thought; I dunno what that "Acer eNet Management" malarkey is - is that how you used to connect to your old broadband router?

If I connect with a cable then some internet access is allowed..it's currently disconnected

Press connect....it says "obtaining IP address please wait" then it says connection successful BUT then the Red Cross appears underneath the WLAN text

Old broadband was through the wifi too

feckin bollocking crappy computers......on it now connected by wire to router and all is ok but wont feckin connect by wi-fi

I had same thing a while back turned the router and D link off at the plug for 15 seconds all was good after
