Leaf spring bushes might be worn, but even when they're in good order they move and clunk. Unless it's knocking almost constantly I wouldn't be too worried.

Sily question...does it happen on normal road corners , or junctions, just wonder as if back end is lifting as you go round ' sharper ' junction corners , could well be the leaf springs moving?

my guess would be a spanner or the like left somewhere not easy to spot (like on the cross member in front of radiator) that is sliding back and forth. Possibly even a socket dropped into the chassis by a previous owner perhaps ?

It could be anything!
I've done a few hindered miles now and it hasn't stopped or got worse, do I just carry on till something snaps or falls off???
Thing is, I've driven a load of differet stuff from rotten B2000 Mazda pickups on farms to Porsches, I know the L200 is gonna be noisey to drive, as long as its safe it doesn't worry me one bit.

yep just carry on till something snaps or falls off gets my vote
I doubt it will.
I had a similar isuue turned out to be a cracked leaf in the spring.
I still run with the same springs with that leaf missing no noise now either

I have fixed it, new u bolts. The bolts had come loose but cudnt really tell as they wudnt tighten because they were seized and the weight hangs off them so they seem tight, jack it up on the bolt pads
