Starter Relay

#1 by Carlos ( Guest ) , Sat Nov 08, 2014 8:58 am

Hi,
Had the AA man out because of a none start. He say it may be a fault with the starter relay and he ran a wire up so I can manually touch the positive of the battery and the starter motor bursts into life and starts the engine. So I have spent the last 2 hours online trying to locate a starter relay for a 2003 L200 2.5D 4WD 4-door. I am getting nowhere. I can't even locate a part number for it or a picture of it or anything - I don't think it really exists!! Very frustrated at the minute. So my question is does anyone know where I can get one? Or any information about them really. Are they easy to fit for a numbty with my zero mechanical skills?
Thanks in advance, Carlos

Carlos

just took a look at mine the first 3 relays are the same so swap one over say swap b with c and see if the starter spins as it should before purchasing a new relay.

Ok, they may be a worse problem than the AA man predicted. Swapped relays c and b and the lights still worked but the starter didn't. You saved me money already, cheers. Anything else easy I can check?
