hi everyone, i am after your help please. have heard a squeacking from the front end which i just guessed was one of the belts slipping, but have now found she is leaking oil and cant see where it is coming from. was wondering if these 2 things are related in any way and where the best place to look is.

may be better to post exactly which vehicle you have got including the year, squeaking can be many things, loose belts, buggered bottom pulley etc etc

loose belts but if its over 54k and never been changed theres a good chance the bottom pulley has de-laminated - common fault, most common place for oil to leak is from the rocker cover, at the rear is a daft half moon rubber, needs replacing every time the covers been removed and even then setting into silicone sealant ~( rtv)

best way to check is remove your lower shields completely. jet wash the full engine, then park over a dry clean area or over a couple sheets newspaper and have her ticking over, watch for any drips and then follow the oil back to where its coming from, dont assume its coming from above the drip, it may be running along something
