power steering box

my power steering has a small leak and i was looking to refurbish it . i have done several land rover ones in the past without trouble

but i have herd people having problems with l200 boxy's dose anyone know why ?

also has anyone here done one there self ?

Chris, the problem is the shaft, It corrodes & rips the hell out the seals so just changing the seals wont do it. the shafts are stupid price from mitsi. There was a company on e bay selling fully refurbed boxes for about £200 with a warranty. Might be worth a look.

Not sure but it will eventually happen again. Do you have a lathe ?

i wasn't sure about getting a proper refurbished box from ebay i thought they mite just paint old boxes and punt them out as recon

i have found a seal kit for £12 so i'm going to give it a go . but am not sure witch one it is ?

I have 2 old boxes & an extra shaft. your local to me aint you ? Im in Dalkieth. I have an idea but needs a lathe

I have a plan but not sure if it will work so need to trial it. if it works then I will be refurbing steering boxes for members & they should never leak again
