Hello, was wondering if someone could help? I have a 2002 l200 which wont rev up to 1000rpm the engine light comes on and then runs very lumpy until I turn engine off leave for a few seconds and turn back on. have plugged truck in and the fault initially comes up with boost sensor fault of which I changed, that didn't cure the problem fault code came back and still not revving up to 1000rpm plugged it in again this time came up with ECU internal error permanent so I sent ECU away came back with no fault at all and they told me its either map sensor(boost) barometric sensor or vacuum problem sooo have checked wiring to both sensor's and all vacuum hoses for leaks all seem to be fine, where is the vacuum pump on this model I don't seem to see any pipes going to the back of the alternator !? it turns out the engine has had a new head but the engine was apparently running after this, just another quickie the engine number on this reads 4d55 shouldn't this be a 4d56? the set up seems the same from pictures ive looked at sorry for the long message kind regards tom

@tom go outside and take the vac pipe off of the throttle body and plug it with a small bolt of lolly stick then start the truck up and tell me if it revs ok or not ok?

revved but as soon as it went passed 1000rpm engine light on and would'n't rev easily up to 1000rpm again!

I still think it's an intermittent ecu fault

Don't know if is the same on the older model I had a similar problem on my l200 57 reg it turned out to be the rod that was stuck on my turbo can't remenber the name think it something boost valve but that made mine go into a limp mode until I turned it off and started it again all my mate did was take this rod off and freed it off and it runs great again

Tom..if you want my advice..I wouldn't waste money on a ecu just yet..go to mitzi..for 90 quid they will put it on diagnostics..my dealer completely rewrote the ecu for no extra charge..
