Hi All.. I've got a really nice clean L200 pick up (2005) the engines completely shot, and would like a auto box if poss (manual at moment) I was thinking of putting a Mitsubishi Pajero (lwb ?) into her but wonder if that's possible. Reason is I have chance of a cheap Pajero come up and its complete and runs well. Is there an easier method to altering to an auto on this earlier model ? Thanks Simon

Sorry... aswel heard the Pajero engine is the same diesel engine as L200 ? Simon

It's possible, but it's not a straight swap. The 2.5 is easier, the 2.8 is a real job to fit. Ideally you'll swap gearbox and transfer box too.

Yea engine and box from pajero ...ok its a 2.5 so good will it be a sraitforward link to the driveshaft or will I use the pajeros to the L200 axles ? Simon.

From memory the bodies ( cab and tub ) will swap straight over, if memory is still working ( I'm old) the mounts are the same..
