Yeah it does look factory fit, knowing my luck I'd have cut the hole and found some metal support bracket directly behind it....

They did remove lower dash panel to check first, only a couple of screws on new shape, surprised me, I expected a bundle of wires and connectors but, nothing and room for another one too.

Must have been fun cutting a 52mm hole in your dash for that....
Never mind the measure twice, cut once.... I'd have been measuring it 10 times just to make sure it was in the right place.
Good effort though, it looks good.
That's what I did with my snorkel hole. Cut the hole and then was pleasantly surprised to discover I'd missed the bonnet release cable by half a millimetre. Planning, huh? Who needs it

So it been some time since i did anything to the l200, but today the sliders arrived woooooooo! And they are exactly what i had in mind quality is brilliant and i have no complaints whatsoever, Iv spent all evening doing the preping, so theyve been degreased, all joints have been red oxided and the whole bar has been primed ready for a few layers of hammerite
They really are quality work aren't they Raj! Are yours up swept?

Quality isnt the word to use here theyre magnificent!!! I wish Brian made my front bumper, and yes theyre the upswept version
It's soooo tempting to give Brian the nod to order mine right now, alas I must pay her majesty's government first. Plus gives me time to work out if I'll need to body lift version too.
They are gonna make your truck look hard as nails mate!

1st coat of hammerite on, tomorrow im gonna mix the sharp sand and see if i can get the non slip affect and they should be on the truck on Thursday
manraj do not put the sand in the oven you will get sillica poisoning
and its will f*ck your lungs
Thanks for the headsup, will it do the same if im just warming the sand? Thought the poisoning occurs when the sand starts turning into a different state
Raj,
Buy a bag of kiln dried sand

I just warmed up the sand, didnt overheat it, no way it reached 450 degrees, prob around 50degrees i could still touch it. Is that ok?
Nick i already bought a bag of sharp sand
just dont breath in the fumes it will get you later on tonight or tomorrow just get it red hot then let it go cold
Just a thought Raj but since the Line X thread, I thought about Line X'ing mine. You can ask for a rougher finish for grip, and it's more durable than anything else.

At least it's easily re touched. Which was the big debate about what to paint these with.

Nick so far the only thing thats gone bad is the bumper which was done professionally, since then i dont trust no one. and as yoda says it can be retouched as they will get bashed. I did a test patch with my home made anti slip if that doesnt work then il stick to the smooth finish like Tams,
But im not paying somone 200+ to add some paint on the bars and then after an offroading session theyre ruined
Ok mate, i would of asked for a price on the bumper and the sliders, may of done you a deal???
See how the home made stuff goes then, can always be blasted and re done.
