Busy weekend

#1 by chris666 , Wed Jun 10, 2015 5:55 pm

Called into milners this morning for a little something for the weekend
Got a broken rear spring so will be fitting a pair also shock's to match
Got to do the camber shim's so got new front shock's aswell
Got advised on the center prop bearing last mot so picked up one of these plus a new uj
Then on the way out i noticed they also do led light bars so went back in and came out with a 36" one
so my sat morning is now booked up
wish me luck

This is why I don't go into 4wd shops. I always come out with no money.

Errrr are those the heavy duty springs? I hope you either carry a lot of weight all the time or enjoy having your spine jarred when you go over speed bumps!

Right guy's just a small update
Got rained off last weekend so nothing happened ,well apart from the pub
Fitted the rear spring's & shock's today, never again most bolt's were rusted solid
took me 7 hour's but that did include me making some extended shock mounts & painting the shock's
one slight problem iv'e found iv'e lost 3.5 in of lift
there used to be 27.5 in from the center of the axle to the top inner arch now 24 in
also the spring's are flat onto the bottom helper springs before there was a 1-2in gap between them
it's as if the new spring's are too weak
any advice ?

See the gap between the bottom leaf & the helper spring ?
when the car is sat on it's wheel's there is no gap both spring's are pressed together

I wouldn't think it should be sat on the assisters like that, mine didn't. Are they the light duty springs?

They only fit one way bud
can you imagine how low it would be without the extended shackles on ?
i think std is 24 in so with these springs it would be like 20.5 in it would be a bloody lowrider
defo think the springs are at fault
