An aladdins cave!!

#1 by paulw , Thu Jul 16, 2015 5:33 pm

popped into neighbours this afternoon, her hubby died about 5 years ago and he was into cars/restoration. You wouldn't believe what is in there!! She was going to get a scrappy to pick it all up, we said not yet!!

For starters a mega snap on compressor with all the tools,a space heater. three BIG shelf systems with so much classic stuff you wouldn't believe, how about a brand new xjs headlight still boxed and sealed! two wings still in cardboard, two jag chrome grills. I could go on!! There is so much I can't log it all. If anybody is interested I will try to get some pics up soon with some of the stuff.

did have warrior, but crossed over to disco 2.
Thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, but it was somebody with a torch bringing more work!

Happened to a neighbour of mine a little while back. She was left with his garage and was didn't know what any of it was and was going to bin it. Turned out there was near £6.5k of fishing and shooting gear in there that we catalogued and sold for her. In the end only threw out some old rags and broken kit which didn't sell.
She went on holiday on the money and we got a couple of free rods as payment. Always worth helping out a neighbour, especially in hard times... What goes around comes around.

The tools will sell like hot cakes and the car parts will be gone quick enough. It you see anything for an early L200 it's mine!

Thanks mate. OH and me could,n't believe the stuff in there. It is a mega workshop. apparently he worked on jags, mercs and occasional ford. from what we could see ( need a good rummage) there are classic dials, temp, oil, amp you name it. Brand new shocks and springs, not sure what from yet, there are bearing presses, he even had a lathe to turn his own parts, Wish I could have met him!

Any P4 Rover parts? Are you advertising it all on here for the neighbour or on ebay? Don't suppose the comp is an upright one is it?

I shudder to think how many garages have been cleared by scrap dealer/parasites when people pass away.
