Tried searching but couldn't find a thread on it...
The handbook for my 2006 Animal (4D56 K74) says it has a 75 litre tank for 4WD and 69 litres for 2WD. However, when I filled it up from near empty, I only got 56 litres in so presume it's a 60 litre tank??
Is that a normal size for these models?
when u say empty did you actually really run out? the light comes on and stays on and you can get another 80 miles out of the tank then you will fit 75 litres in it for sure
so ask yourself is the tank really bone dry

As per chef, there can easily be 15 litres left in the tank when the light comes on.

Wow really? That much? left in a tank? The light hadn't come on but the needle was pretty low so presumed it was near empty.
80 miles out of it after the light comes on is good!
Cheers guys - I'll let it run down and carry some spare just in case :)
the light didn't even come on wow u had a quarter of a tank left then!
The light also get brighter as the needle drops providing you light comes on! be warned but the neddle drops well over 10mm below the empty mark

I regularly run mine till the light comes on and then some but some suggest that there is a risk of sucking sh1te out of the tank by running really low, just thought I'd mention it.
there is a pic in my gallery of how low my fuel gauge goes and where it was when I ran out

Well the fuel light has just about flickered and the needle is below empty! Normal behaviour?
I took a picture but I can't show it as I'm still not approved here yet :(
Just took 61 litres to fill it. I can't believe it would still have 14 litres in it with the needle so low!??
here you go bud you should be able to see this pic ........ this is where my gauge sat when I ran out (deliberately) so I could see how many miles I could get to a tank. Light is not on because the ignition was off when I took the pic but had been on for 90 miles or so

Thanks for that - mine is only a touch above that now but the light literally started to flicker when I pulled on to the drive earlier. Just seems strange that it gets so low before the light comes on!
the light is only activated by the circuit in the needle on the gauge
so with sensible driving u could have 80 miles or more left to go b4 its empty it is only a warning reember
