That's a nice looking snorkel. I like the close to the roof look.

If i could have it, i would buy it now. Most people won´t send to me though/or cost to much. But yeah it looks just like the South American Ralliart one. They were $550, if you could find one (My spainlish comes in handy)

thing is, the forward facing snorkels act as ram air forcing the cool air into the system so for engine performance I would say they are the better option. this one does look good though.

On a small turbo like ours, It wouldn´t make a bit of difference.

I do believe in the concept of a ram air system. But I do remember someone with a snorkel saying they see no difference with snorkel facing forwards versus backwards. Of course it could be a difference that is not noticeable but still cools the engine more. Only thing here is no one has actualy proved anything either way have they? Anyhow, I'm happy with my purchase and I don't mind conducting some temp tests etc to see if a forward facing snorkel DOES do anything.

oooooooooooooya thats the old shaped version of mine, it was a nightmare to fit on, it was made from the thinnest fiberglass, and it came cracked when i got it, so i had to remake it and now its pretty bulletproof... i bet that one is fibreglass as well

At higher road speeds, a properly designed hood scoop can increase the speed and pressure with which air enters the engine's intake, creating a resonance supercharging effect. Such effects are typically only felt at very high speeds, making ram air primarily useful for racing, not street performance.

True story. Hence why I didnt do it in the end. And the air through the snorkel has to overcome the rearward facing body of the snorkel. But cold - as much as possible - it will be.

They tend to use rear facing in Aus stop dust getting forced in on some of the outback 'roads'.

bloody hell , I've just gone out to the garage to check mine is still there
that's exactly the same as mine , well spotted Colin
on a side note, I thought mine had a brackety thing missing on the back (2 on the front but only 1 on the back) but looking at the picture it's meant to be like that I guess

ps if you really want to look like me then I need pics of stupid stuff sticking way too far out of your tub
and you're going to have to add some more dents/scratches/dings and drill some holes in your truck too

My truck is big enough for most things,

the problems starts when I wake up off nights to find my wife has taken my truck to work leaving me her car and I had plans for a day on the water....

If that's what he said, he's having a laugh.

He's had it advertised on Gumtree for 3 weeks at £60 with no takers, he's now trying it on Ebay with a £25 starting price and no reserve.
