Note also that he only put one pic on and you've to "email him for the rest" - probably because he only has the one pic.

he wants to get your email address but not sure what for

Cos then he's in a conversation with you. "Look, you seem like a really nice guy and I need the money cos my daughter about to be thrown out on the street and I need to clear her credit card bill. How about £4,700? I'm out of the country right now but if you wire me the money I'll have my mate drive the truck to you at the weekend. Obviously you'd be foolish to pay the whole £4,700 so how about you paypal me £1,000 as a deposit? Oh wait - I'm out of the country so I wouldn't be able to get the money and pay it into my daughter's account. Just send it to me by Western Union, then I can withdraw it here. You'll love the truck - you sound like you know what you're talking about and I'd rather it went to someone who would appreciate it".

Imagine if he gets 100 interested emails and manages to get 10 of them to wire the deposit? All off the back of a single ad.
Then on to the next ad.

As laughable as it is.... you'd be surprised at the number of 'intelligent' people who fall for it.

My mate almost did. A Mini Cooper, the owner fled to France to escape an abusive husband and left the car in a lock-up in Kent. When she had the money she Fedex over the keys and the location.

I nearly slapped him for being so gullible....

S'why it's priced so laughably low. People's desire (and greed) overrule their better judgement.

i get a fair few email conjobs tried, most try too convince me they are good godfearing people, my replies often revolve around my devil worship, Satanism or similar, if its a mum and daughter scenario i go right for can we have threesomes or will you do a lezzy show with your daughter, will you both be ok if i get a load of the mates around to hump you both senseless etc etc, now for some strange reason i dont get replies

I guess the buyer needs to "act now" to avoid someone else snapping up the "great deal" and in doing so they forget some of the basic rules of buying as they are afraid of missing it. Like you say desire/greed and the though of "getting one over" on the seller

I'm suspicious when a truck is priced £500 less never mind £5k less, why don't they set the price a grand less as surely that's more believable ?.

It's all simply psychology. Unfortunately, it's good skills put to bad use.

Colin, I have a few ideas on your trays

might it be worth fitting each hole with an LED light thingy then putting them in the tub for lighting ?

what about using them as a set of really short waffle boards ?

cut them in half and have 4 nice shiny mud flap covers ?

take off your intercooler scoop and put one in its place ?

replace each of your sunvisors with them ?

rear mats ?

put them inside your clothes to use as body armour ?

put them on the side of your BBQ to store sausages upright ?

strap them to your feet to use them as snow shoes ?

take it to every pub on a pub crawl and insist that you can only drink if its placed on your driptray first ?

wrap it up for Christmas as laptop armour for your daughter ?

build your own pub in your garage ?

cut them up and cover the sides of your roofrack with them ?

now you have the dimensions see if wellspacedout or Mck can knock you up some more for a group buy ?

why not auction them off and build a summerhouse instead ?

turn them into keyrings, never lose your keys again !

put a red LED in it and stick it on the side of your house as an alarm box (crime won't crack itself you know)

turn it upside down and use it as an ashtray but tell people to be careful to avoid the holes ?

use it when you're baking to cool down those cakes/cookies ?

make them into a ground anchor , they seem quite popular ?

carefully fill all the holes up and place them on your drive to catch your oil leak ?

sneak one into your local pub and put it on the bar , see how long before they even notice ?
