Hi,
I have a 2007 L200 animal with 100k miles. Recently it cut out at idle but would start up again no problems. Sometimes it would do it again and other time it would not. It only did it at idle. It would do it if you slowed down to a stop before reversing or at a junction. It would then be fine for weeks. I had it plugged into a snap-on diagnostics at an independant garage and no engine faults were present but a YAW sensor had a fault. The garage cleared the fault and everything was ok for about a month. Yesterday my wife said that it cut out and stopped while driving. Has anybody come across this before. I have been looking through the forum and cant find much relating to this. Hopefully somebody knows.
Thanks James
Hi James
get yourself signed up to the forum, once you are a full member there are plenty of bits you cant see as a non member (it's free too)
off the top of my head I remember there have been issues with the loom on auto box newshape trucks (I assume that's what you've got with a 2007)
and issues with the egr valve and the manifolds in need of a decoke
once registered there are plenty of people with the same truck as yourself who should be able to point you in the right direction

It is a Manual New Shape. I thought the EGV may have given a fault code?
possibly ? or possibly not
there is a full how to with pictures of how to decoke it on here and if it's not already done will probably need doing at that kind of mileage/age
at least if yours is a manual it will rule out the auto box fault though

I could move it but unfortunately then James wouldn't be able to see it once I had!

Thanks, I have registered but the e-mail says it may take a few days to activate.
Is the how to guide available as a guest or only after my registration is complete?
I think it's only available once registered isn't it ronnie ?
hang tight though as the more knowledgeable ones on here who have similar trucks (myself and ronnie have older shape trucks) may suggest something simple like a sensor or the like that might be an easy fix
