On a side note does this work independently of the headunit as don't have the original headunit and currently have an empty hole where that one sits

This is the independent unit that plugs into the wiring loom, (o/e plug under radio) and gives all computer readngs from outside temp, compass, mpg barometer etc, on the animal model computer was standard, on barbarian years an extra, but all wires still fitted in vehicle.

That's cool I didn't ditch any of the fittings that were on the old display or that little black box
