peugeot advice please

#1 by paulw , Mon Feb 15, 2016 7:35 pm

have mothballed our 1997 pug 306, has always started on the button, ( usually run it weekly) left for about four weeks and tried to start it,management light is flashing and both red and green 'code lights are on. so doesn't start.
I had the battery constantly connected to a trickle charge and batt is brand new turns over great just doesn't fire. trying to keep it in running condition for or granddaughter who will be driving next year!
Have disconnected batt for a few days so hopefully it will reset ECU?
any other ideas?

did have warrior, but crossed over to disco 2.
Thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, but it was somebody with a torch bringing more work!

disconnect the battery both leads and touch them together to totally discharge the system

It being an auto will help her insurance though..... not a lot , just a little!

And that sounds like possibly an immobiliser problem....

Some cases its cheaper to get a new car on finance. One of my neighbours daughters got a new 1.0 Peugeot, the servicing, the tax, roadside assistance and insurance for less than it would cost her to insure a beat up old Fiesta. At the end of the 3 years she had the option to chop it in and start again or pay the outstanding amount and keep the car.

well, touched both leads together, but the light is still flashing and red/green lights on, turns over a treat so must be a prob with imobiliser .not really had time to delve deeper, shame great little motor still only 89 thou from new (1996) always started on the button. it is now propped up with a trickle charger, will get a proper look later. pigging pug leccies!!
