Dear God.

"I've just HPI'd it mate and its Cat D, you're trying to pull a stunt"

"That'll be the cat d that I mention in the advert text then, oh, and why it's so much cheaper, d1ckhead"

Fed up.

And so it goes on........
Been harrassed by one t*sser by text as to why Iwouldn't accept his "generous" offer of £1800 - he hasn't the balls to pick up the phone when I have rang him 3 times to tell him to go **** himself.
WTF is wrong with people these days?
Pr1cks

The corker is, within ten mins of posting my scumtree advert, I got a scam DHL text asking me to pay the tax on a foreign purchase. As it happened I had an ebay item on way from China.
Called DHL the next day "not us, we're aware scammers are grabbing telephone numbers off auction/sale sites to do this"

I never put my number on Gumtree, and I refuse to give a contact number until people are on their way, as you get feckin halfwits phoning at all hours. I keep it to emails / gumtree messenger only, I find that if a buyer can barely spell their own name then there's a fair chance their full of shit and wasting my time.

Don't forget the knobheads that buy you truck at the price advertised on eBay and your classified ad says sold automatically then emails you to say they haven't got any money, then you have to pay to re advertise it again.....fecking tossers

The reason I stopped putting a telephone or text option on Gumtree was after advertising an all singing all dancing Sony Dolby pro logic old style 32 inch telly a few years back, which cost me about £1500 just prior to plasma's becoming all the rage. I had it on Gumtree for £150 ono and I got a call about 2am from a Jeremy Kyle extra asking questions about it, being the middle of the night I was convinced it was a wind up, hung up and turned the phone off. Five minutes after turning the phone on later that morning your man phoned again asking if he could put £50 down on it and pay it up at £20 a fortnight when he gets "his money" (giro) and would leave a mountain bike and pair of binoculars (essential tower block apparel) as security
I again told him to Foxtrot Oscar, but he was deadly serious and plagued me by illiterate text for about the next week with a variety of "swop offurs". Obviously paying £100 odd in one go would have been catastrophic to the cannabis and pot noodle fund.

I may be terribly judgemental, but if the punter doesn't know to use a capital letter at the start of his own name then I instantly fear the worst, and that's before the conversation (or attempt thereof) has even begun

I took delivery of a new three piece suite yesterday and have the old one on Gumtree at the moment for £100........wish me luck

You do get plenty of bullshit hard luck stories as well that would bring tears to a glass eye.
Half an hour after putting the three piece suite up on Friday afternoon I got a message from some halfwit who really really wants to buy it as a house warming present for her son.
She offered £80 as long as I could hold it to Monday and delivered it, I was also to call her son to discuss delivery as his phone has no credit.

Needless to say young "Zak" will not be munching his pot noodles from the comfort of my former couch anytime soon

It may well have.............
Deposit winging it way tomorrow apparently from a local chap, I actually know him although didn't recognise him at enquiry stage.

I had a call about an hour afterwards. I don't think english was his first language.
"hi i calling L mitsubishi 2 hundred"
"deposit coming tomorrow at full asking price - I will keep your number and call you tomorrow night if it doesn't happen"
"I come now £2500 cash"
"its sold at full asking price"
"But i have cash now and come now"
"with £3k and no arguments??"
"no, £2500 but its cash"
"goodbye"

She's gone now.
Am quite sad as it happens, more so than I expected. She's earned her keep.
Will drop in from time to time.

Big thanks to all who have helped me out over my time of ownership - it's much appreciated.
