hammerite session!

#1 by janso , Tue Apr 03, 2012 10:02 pm

Went and emptied my Frontera of all the bits that add up from my behind my mates garage business, took off the tailgate for a hammerite session in the bed. Started to rain, so continued with the inside of tailgate and hinges. Will continue with the bed tomorrow and look at taking off the 'under armour' and side steps for a sand and hammerite...

May go for aerosol on the side steps...? Look better without brush strokes!!

Anyone used that spray on bed liner?

What I'm trying to achieve is a rust free zone in the bed for when I put the liner back in; out of site, out of mind otherwise

Have you seen this stuff, Protectakote, I've been thinking about using it, as my plastic load liner is on the way out. The spray on ones you can get done are a bit to expensive for me, this stuff seems ok, but I do wonder if it does roll on as good as they show?

Hmmm a plastic liner just looks a bit more 'tougher'? Looks ok but I can help feel that a hard drop in the bed will just dent and dink...

Well, the Halfords own spray on liner looks ok, bit of a pig when spraying though as the nozzle seems to continually get blocked, watch out for it - it does get on ones t*ts!!!
Frontera didnt do too badly for me??!! Although I do tend to feel embarassed sometimes in mentioning it!!!

Wit my transit van I had a 500 litre water tank in the back of it for my work and before the tank was fitted I used protectacote on it
The stuff is bulletproof and. Can be jet washed which makes it look like new fantastic stuff just be sure to give it a real good mix before using it and don't get it on your skin cause it's harder to shift than tiger seal lol

Is the protectacote stuff easy to roll on, or is it a bit of a nightmare?
