Hello to all, still awaiting my membership so will have to post here for the moment.
My 2003 l200 2.5td Warrior has a couple of issues.
Firstly, She doesn't like starting.
She cranks over fine, but doesn't like to fire up. My Mechanic thought this was because diesel from the lift pump was seeping back to the tank, and fitted a one way valve to the fuel line just before the lift pump. This has had no effect on the problem which still persists. any ideas?
Secondly, occasionally when pulling away from stationary or slow moving she has an enormous lack of power. Put foot down on the accelerator to go but no revs and no power. sometimes she then over revs afterwards but most of the time just takes ages to get any revs. This is getting tiresome not to mention potentially lethal at junctions.
any help appreciated.
if you had any work done on the engine recently then I would suggest checking the timing as apparently they are easy to get a tooth or two out

Nope no EMI on dashboard at all. only work done was fitting the one way valve. no engine work or rebuild at all.
There is also no smoke of any colour accompanying the lack of power nor engine judder. its just as if you hadn't pressed the pedal at all.
On starting there is occasionally a small puff of grey/blue smoke but that only happens on cold mornings and quickly disappears.
timing out a tooth or the CCs not working properly
