Heating

#1 by Knot78 ( Guest ) , Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:19 am

Hello everyone. I'm looking for some advice. I've got a 09 raging bull and it starts to overheat after a 30 + minute drive. I've had the thermostat done and also put a new radiator cap on. ( which is what the AA thought it was ). A friend thinks it is the water pump. Can anyone confirm this before I have it done pls.

Hmmm , not usual for a water pump .... unfortunately , if you've done Rad cap and thermostat , its looking like Headgasket.....

Unless you've recently had work done and all the water drained, if so , maybe an airlock if you're really lucky..........

If you have an air lock raise the front end start truck up with cap off it helps push the air out also make sure header tank is at the max Mark

The water is going up and down and there are bubbles. Got a qoute from Mitsubishi Brighton for £1700. To replace the HG and the radiator , which they advise to do 😡

looks like HG failure to me . I'd also find an independant garage , £ 1700 seems a little steep to me
