Its a shame we cant get a scanner for the classics , you could get all the live readings from all the vehicle sensors as collected by the ECU whilst driving and download to pc later for analysis like you can with the new shapes.Includes vacuum and boost guage readings etc, would be a great help when setting this kit up to get accurate readings.

Yes I agree. EGT and boost pressure should be enough to do the job though.

Another thought I did have actually... and this would solve all the issues you just mentioned....... was fitting an after-market fully tune-able ECU. Literally replacing my ECU. You can then get read outs of everything the new shapes have. I can remap the engine myself as I mod it. And perhaps more importantly with the power gains I plan on getting - you can have pre-set engine maps at the flick of a switch. So I can run in lower power economy mode with fuel and boost turned down for most of the time. Then flick a switch and have everything turn the wick up including the water injection. So in theory I could tune it to 200Bhp but switch it down to 120 or so as I see fit.

Sheeeesh yeah I know! It depends how the water injection works out to be honest. If it does indeed add a fair bit of power all on it's own and bring egt's down AND improve economy then I won't do the ECU mod. Just remap and be done with it. But if it say adds loads of power or allows for major power mods by having lowered temps a lot, but doesn't improve economy, then an ECU may be wise to bring he economy back into play. We have to see what happens and I'm still in the learning stage with the water injection right now.
