Clutch has started slipping. Must be because I've been pricing up lift kits and undersealing so something more important had to come up...
Anything worth knowing or.are they fairly straight forward? Are the clutch kits from Milners decent? And is there anything I need to order other than the clutch kit? Thanks in advance

Think you may find they are all solid fly wheels
Milners only list one

Kit from Milners is 120 quid less club discount. Is that a decent clutch or is there one you can recommend? I did wonder about a HD one while im in there. Id rather not do flywheel if i can help it. Don't really have the money for one at the moment. But as it is if its a dmf and its starting to go is it really worth potentially stripping it.down again in another 6 months...
My local garage priced it at just over 500 without a flywheel or 800 with. 350 in labour so say 60 an hour they are quoting for 6 hours. They said its a dual mass flywheel though but the price is inline with Milners

they should be quoting for 4 hours not 6

Personally luk or exedy
never had one off but if it turns out to be a dual mass you'll want to change it regardless if it looks ok mostly down to if it fails shortly after fitting the clutch you'll have to pull the gearbox off again.
Generally solid flywheels are ok to leave in depending on the surface of the flywheel if it's pitted or scored you'll need to change it

According to Mitsi it does have a dual mass flywheel. Priced at 280 plus vat. Looks like it will be having a solid flywheel from milners as well as their clutch kit (Exedy).
There is a clutch and dmf kit on eBay for 280 at the moment but think I'll go with the milners one for peace of mind
If anyone's interested a clutch, pressure plate and release bearing from mitsi comes to just short of 500 for the parts alone...

Done the job today. Didn't do flywheel in the end just the 3 piece kit from milners. 2 of us did it in just over 4 hours on a 4 post ramp with access to air tools, I still have the inside to finish but underneath is all done. We did spend about 45 mins trying to get the top 2 bellhousing bolts out. A few pointers for anyone else doing it.
The gear/transfer box is f$$$ing heavy. Most of the weight in the transfer box at the back
The top bell housing bolts are easiest to get from in the cab after the gear levers have been removed. We had 2 x 12" extensions on. Me in the cab with the rachet and my mate guiding the socket on from underneath
No need to drain gearbox. No need to take off exhaust, but it does have one mount on the gearbox that needs undoing. Take the slave cylinder off and tie it out if the way. We undid the flexi but ended up taking it off altogether anyway. took us a good 20 mins to bleed up

Alot of newer vehicles are a twat to bleed sometimes easier to use a syringe and back bleed it from the bleed nipple alot of Vauxhalls are near on impossible without doing it that way

Would have been a lot easier if I hadn't taken the flexi off. Could have sucked the reservoir empty and filled with new fluid then bled through. Because id took the flexi off the whole system was empty. Hind sight doesn't help me now though
We did get the box back on the engine first go. Probably helped having 3 of us at that point, one each side of bellhousing checking it was lined up, and one bloke pushing the box on from the heavy end.
We left the x member attached to the gearbox, so the gearbox was quite stable on the trolley not just balanced on the bottom mount
