Tyre size

#1 by Anon ( Guest ) , Mon Oct 24, 2016 4:15 pm

I am the owner a 2006 Mk5 l200 double cab. I am looking to put BF goodrich k02's on it. I currently have 245/65r17 road tyres on it. I would like to go up in size but wondered what my limits are. Can any help/advise?

Can I safely go up to 255/65r17 or 255/70r17?

Thank you

Anon

With the smaller size 255/65r17 your dia changes by 13mm, on the larger size 255/70r17 your dia changes by 39mm and if your going muds it will be a bit more. I have notified a couple of new shape owners who will know a lot more than me about your shape.

Think some Trojans run 16" wheels, But most run 17".
pretty sure 265 70 17 are as big as you can go without mods.
Not sure for mud tyres as they are normally bigger.

My animal had 17s as standard . I've now got 16" steel mods running 265/75/16 muds . But I do have 2" body lift and 3-4" suspension . Before fitting the Karrman uca's I did get a little bit of rubbing on full lock .
