Adblue is refined pig pee, it is sprayed as a fine mist into the exhaust pipe and makes the harmful diesel emissions heavier than air stopping them floating around. It is law that any vehicle fitted with the system must have a fully functional system.
It is known that some owners disconnect the system, but owner beware.
Other liquids cannot be substituted as the system recognises adblue.
Try to keep it reasonably full as it crystallises in the pipe and can cause faults.
This is based on the knowledge I have on an HGV not an L200 but the principle is the same.

Now being fitted on cars too, we sell Insignia's with it fitted.
Garages are now selling it by the pump, rather than in 5 & 10 ltr tubs.

A mate has it on his beemer and in his car the BMW agent refil it on a service schedule. All new vehicles must now adhere to euro 6 specifications.
It now makes the exhaust on my truck about £5500 to renew and that doesn't include the regen filter.

We had it on our HGV's at work but I never touched it as it was always topped up for us.

The first truck I had with it was a 57 plate DAF with a 500 litre tank it would last just over a month and take 1/2 hour to fill.
My new truck has a 50 litre tank and lasts two weeks more practical and far less weight.
