Hi I have not Long got an l200 animal pickup and today noticed something not right under the bonnet.
There is a small.pipe at the top of the engineback left that has been removed from a gold looking disk and an alankey pushed into the end of it, could anyone tell me what this pipe is please?

hi all
after abit of digging on the internet I have found that the pipe connects to the black solenoid? there is also a brown one? what dose the black one do as it is this pipe that is disconnected and been blanked off with an Alan key.

I've got a pipe blocked off with a bolt, mine sits on top of the rocker cover and is from the egr valve
sounds like something is amiss with your vac system
I dont understand the vac system myself but someone with knowledge of it may be able to help @123hotchef or @Major Malfunction perhaps

there are pictures on the forum somewhere of where all the vac pipes go

Thank you for replying, I was always thinking that its not had as much get up and go as the last one I had but wasn't sure as this was along time ago and wasn't sure if it was me just expecting more power from it.

its the small pipe running from the black solenoid to the round disk thing that has been blanked off

If it's this it's part of the throttle solenoid sensor, depending on what's been done it sounds like a botch job and needs rectifying.

You could try but I suspect the solenoid is not working but worth a go.

If it is FUBAR then I am not sure what the next step is after checking the solenoid it depends how much it's been botched

Definitely as the throttle is not getting the correct vacuum.

A small sub note these trucks are not known for huge power

Just checking it is a classic you have.

yea had one before years ago and I was sure it had more power than what this one does but wasn't sure if it was just me not remembering the old one correctly.

sounds like the throttle butterfly actuator pipe if so it has probably been going into limp mode

I would like to know why it was disconnected off the diaphragm.
Unless the throttle body is FUBAR
