Hi I have been scanning the sheets for a simple breakdown to the 4WD and diff lock set up on my 2004 L200 Warrior. Every thread gives a different answer or gets complicated.
My L200 does as follows
2wd . Diff lock switch showing nothing in both positions . rear axle is not diff locked
4WD HI . Diff lock switch indication unlit so indicating off . back axle drags wheel when turning
4WD HI . Diff lock switch indication Green so indicating on . back axle drags wheel when turning
4WD LOW . Diff lock switch indication unlit so indicating off . back axle drags wheel when turning
4WD LOW . Diff lock switch indication Green so indicating on . back axle drags wheel when turning
I Believe the proper sequence should be
2wd . Diff lock switch showing nothing in both positions . rear axle is not diff locked free wheel when turning
4WD HI . Diff lock switch indication unlit so indicating off . rear axle is not diff locked free wheel when turning
4WD HI . Diff lock switch indication Green so indicating on . back axle drags wheel when turning
4WD LOW . Diff lock switch indication unlit so indicating off . rear axle is not diff locked free wheel when turning
4WD LOW . Diff lock switch indication Green so indicating on . back axle drags wheel when turning
If I am correct why is my L200 engaging and disengaging diff lock when going from 2wd to 4wd etc but wont disengage by means of the switch.
I hope this is clear and helps resolve the issue finally as I have heard a few people talking and confused by what should and should not be happening .
Any advice welcome
Without seeing or getting more information it's difficult to give a true answer.
The diff lock should only come on with the diff lock switch and you should only be able to activate it when in 4L
It maybe a fault with the ECU or with the switches, or a bad earth, there is a how to check the 4wd system on the forum and would require joining to access it.
Hope this helps.
