Hi All
I dont know if this has been asked before but I have a 2007 MK 4 Trojon and i feel that I need a sixth gear or overdrive, what options do i have to lower the revs in fifth gear for road cruising speeds. For example are there any taller geared diffs that will fit or different gear ratios for the transfer box. I am running standard size tyres. Thanks in advance.

Surely easiest is to fit a second hand six-speed box? I assume some of the higher spec models come with a 6-speed
I'm interested in this too because I'm curious about any gearing to go the other way, to allow for taller tyres.

I dont think the classic shape Mk 4 came with a 6 speed option

Oh sorry saw 2007 and assumed it would be a pram, I have a feeling you are right.

mate of mine at work had a 52 plate with overdrive
there was an issue with the overdrive and it needed a new part ordered
turns out the company that made it didn't make the parts anymore
in theory if you fit Huuuuuuge tyres that'll bring the revs down but dont think this is a real solution to your problem

@Bunk101 - 4work/single cab models have 4.636 ratio diffs instead of 4.875 - this would work, but would obviously affect all the gears, making it slower to pull away.
