Well guys and girls fianlly got enough hard earned cash to get the Big truck back on the road (thanks in part to the tax man! ). Got a long engine and a few other bits and bobs from Milners. As usual their service was first class and what I ordered arrived when they said it would.

Because of the little one's birthday the weekend I could not start playing untill Monday but so far this is what has been done:

Unboxed the engine and longingly and lovingly stared at it Bild entfernt (keine Rechte).
Cleaned up and painted the front cross member as it was looking and bit rusty.
Replaced all vac hoses in the engine bay and tidied up the extra wiring (while there was room).
Fitted the large plate to the back of the engine and mounted it on a stand.
Degreased and cleaned up the sump, rubbed it down removing all the surface rust and primed with zinc primer ready to be stone chipped.

Hopefully he will be back on the road in the next few weeks (work & weather permitting) but i'm not going to rush it, he's been out of action for a while so i would rather take my time and get it right first time. More updates and pic to follow.

For how long?

Busy weekend so not a lot done.. Sumps primed and stone chipped, All metal water and vac pipes cleaned and fitted. Oil cooler and pipes removed and soaking in gunk in the shed. Water pump fitted and glow plugs in and finally alternator and air con brackets fitted. It's slowly taking shape but yet again the wonderful British summer has prevented me from getting anything done today
