Ashs truck build

#1 by Asalt , Wed Aug 16, 2017 11:21 pm

Hi all new to this forum. Just thought I'd start a build thread on my truck I bought about 6 months ago I'm planning to use it for work and playing.
Here it is now so far I've only fitted some bigger tyres I had lying around (265/70/16) but I'm hoping to go bigger yet.
Removed the back seats so I can chuck more kit in side.
I'm also in the process of building a flatbed to replace the rear tub. Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Sounds like a great project about to start lol.
Are you going to increase power? What is the plan inside?
Oh, and is your tailgate still good? I could do with a straight one

Hi benson I'm hoping to increase power im undecided if it's going to be the engine in it or something different yet (I was think down the lines of a diesel v8)
I'm probably going to change the seats inside as they aRe quite knackered. this truck has had quite a hard life before it used the belong to the local shoot and they game keepers didn't give it an easy time (including me when I worked there) so the tailgate is quite stoved in and the hinges have been ripped out on one side.

I've been making a start on the tray for her, now just to find some time to take the tub off and trial fit the tray.

In the mean time I've made a start on the lights and number plate board.

I know it all looks heavy but its not as bad as it looks and at least it should stand up to a few bashes.

I was thinking use it for a bit in case I want to change anything. Then get it blasted then paint but I'll get some epoxy primer on it before the raptor now. Lol. One of my plans is to rig up a vice to go in the rear sockets.

So the trial fit has turned in to more of a permanent fit for now as I decided after getting the tub off it would be easier just to go for it now. Here's it is so far. I had to make some changes to the lights as it wasn't going to work as it was not sure wether I like it or not might make some changes to the lights. See how it looks when I fit them. Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) next I need some mudguard and a head board but I want to tie the headboard into some rock sliders. And I was thinking of doing a 2 inch body lift first. Need to do some thing with the tow bar aswell as it looks a bit daft now I was thinking of boxing in the end chassis and fitting a receiver hitch so I can change it for a NATO hitch or recovery eye
