could it still be a turbo related issue .. I know its new and a pain to do , but maybe whip it off and just double check everything?

you will always get oil splatter when the engine is running when you open the fille ... as the tappetss and cam will be whipping it about. I've seen whole engine bays coated in oil where someone has forgotten to put the cap back on!

It looked like the rad cap in your video when I looked on my phone, it's like looking at a postage stamp.
Without a compression test it's just guessing hope it comes good for you ad.

Although white smoke and knocking relates to an injector or timing fault

If it was piston rings black smoke would be thrown up, plus starting would take longer because of lack of compression.
The turbo for a guess wouldn't cause engine knock

When coming home from kirton engine started to run away, stopped then it did it again and never stopped managed to turn it off. When the lad in the disco pulled up he looked in turbo and said it's fooked loads of oil in bottom of turbo. Also breakdown guy said the same.
Can move the shaft from side to side but blades look ok from outside.I'll try to cut the nuts off tomorrow to get it apart and look inside.
The engine run away a couple of times on way back from alan's after head change,it had never happened before the change (wont be a dodgy head would it)

why not let it run too long? might be an idea to check the timming though how fast did it go when it ran away?
