Hi Everyone!
So I have been looking at buying an L200 for about 2 months now doing a bit of heavy research. I currently have a Volvo V50 that has cost me >£6000 in repairs in 3 years (It's only done 84,000 miles) I am looking forward to something new!

Tell me about it Ronnie! The turbo seal blew which caused the engine to run away. I chucked it in 6th and stalled it after a few seconds but it melted the injector to the head and killed it. New engine, injectors, turbo, dual mass flywheel, clutch etc. Parts for Volvo's are stupidly expensive too. I changed 2 wheel bearings, strut top mounts, lower arm and the anti roll bar link today to the tune of £350 so it's not a surprise how fast it racked up a bill! Ironically I had a ford focus before the Volvo (same engine etc) and it didn't cost me a penny in repairs apart from the normal services! Where's the best place to ask technical questions on the forum? I want to learn a little about the "common faults" I found on google! Googling common faults is a little like google medical symptoms, never a good idea!

Very true about googling common faults lol. If you post in the ask mods/admin section for now , until you are upgraded, most of the forum users can access that bit. Best to give us an idea of what age trucks you are looking at , as it will help to get the right info...
All I will say , is as you have found , it is possible to just get a ' bad ' one in any marque....

That's okay I will send my details to admin now for the upgrade and post in the normal sections when I have eligibility! I can wait, gives me time to do more googling ;)
