According to DVLAs website the almost identical N200FWD is £250 including fees. I've a private plate on retainer myself so I wouldn't mind knowing who told you it was worth £450, so I could sell it to them and max the profit.

I was pleasantly surprised at what you appear to have been told its worth, son was enquiring which dealer had given you that figure so I could sell mine to them and minimise my loss.

Having just re read my post it seems to be perfectly polite, no abuse whatsoever. I wish you the very best not luck with the sale and hope you.get close to what you've been told its worth.

Did they offer you that for it or just say it's worth that ? If they say they can sell it for you and you get 200 I'd say take them up on it . Private registrations seem notoriously tough to resell unless it means something to someone .
The other problem is there's plenty of plates out there that are available to people so it's a massive market .
Don't forget whoever buys it will have to pay the transfer fee of £80 . But for £250 all In there's an abundance of L200 *** on the dvla website and that includes all the fees .
Personally I'd say let that website give you the £200 . It will save you a lot of hassle and maybe more than you'll actually get selling privately .
No offence meant there by the way , just some advice

I can't see where you are coming from, what abuse have you had?? All members have asked is who quoted you the price so they can benefit from it.
If you think that a member saying front wheel drive is abusive WELL i think you will not be a member long.
Chill and enjoy the forum.
Members get a lot of banter thrown at them, but don't take it personal it's just L200 forum crack and that's why ENJOY

I agree , can't say I see anyone was unduly rude, the problem, sometimes, is on a computer someone can not actually ' hear ' how you mean to say it ( if you get my drift ) , hence the use of smileys to try and solve that. Other members were just enquiring as to who was offering such good money for it, so to benefit themselves ( after all isn't that why we frequent forums , to help and be helped?)

Anyways please feel free to join in and enjoy the banter, us mods are always around and if you feel unduly worried by a post , use the report topic at the bottom

I suppose its only worth what someone wants to pay, all of my family have private reg`s (5) and we only paid £250. But my wife was offered £1200 for hers.

I paid £400 for the wife plate. A lad.at work paid £2000 for a near.identical one for his missus.(K155 followed by their initials) and nearly passed out when I told HI I'd paid a fifth of that.

mrs krutly has a personal plate which cost me £250 about 10 or 15 years ago
I looked at getting the same plate but one digit different a few years back and DVLA wanted £1000 for it
supply and demand I guess(needless to say I didn't get it). I bet "the recession" hit the price of plates quite hard though.

The reg on my 1962 series 2 landy was 1066wf or was it wf1066, I sold it as scrap as the chassis was gone, that was about 30 years ago, wish I knew then what I know now.
