Morning all and thanks for accepting me in the group.
Happened across this group after looking for a fix for a continually locked rear diff and flashy 4wd Dash light....ah the joys of owning an L200
My trucks an L200 warrior on a 54 plate with 120k on the clock, only had it a month or so and it has the very common (as I have found out lol) issues mentioned above ( still need to try and fix em)
Currently living in Ipswich.
No doubt I will be asking all sorts of advice on fixing it at some point.
Have a happy new year

hello there
rear diff should only lock when in 4wd and only when you press the switch (should be an orange light on the switch)
it should automatically unlock when you go above a certain speed (think it's 10 miles an hour or something like that)
flashing 4x4 light is very common and there are various things you can do to try and resolve this such as reversing to see if the front actuator might be stuck, lubricate the shaft inside the bellows of the front actuator, check for split or damaged vacuum pipes, check you've got vacuum in the right places with a vacuum gauge, replacing the 4x4 solenoids among many other things.
You should only be in 4wd if you've manually shifted the transfer lever into 4H or 4L (the flashing green light should turn to a solid green light). If you're stuck in 4WD then you'll have serious problems turning the steering as you drive on any hard surface and this could cause diff wind up (expensive) as the 4WD system is designed to only be used on a loose/slippery surface.
plenty of knowledgeable people on here who have undoubtedly had, at some point, just about every conceivable problem you can think of with a classic L200 like yours so feel free to ask away with any questions you may have
