my turbo has around 3mm of play all round fins don't appear to be rubbing on housing but i think i would like to rebuild just as a precaution, as the vehicle does a lot of short runs around 10 miles or less which i understand may not help with turbos life span, its on 110 thou and has i presume original turbo, i was wondering peoples thoughts on replacing the turbo cartridge with one from ebay that comes ready balanced
thankyou

Hi all.
A turbo related question. Can you recommend a supplier of a new turbo for my 01 Shogun sport.
My local garage has checked mine and they tell me it’s stuck open and what little movement that
there is is very “notchy”. I certainly can’t afford the one he wants to supply me but is happy to fit
one that I’ll supply. He says there are plenty of good aftermarket ones on eBay but which one to pick?
Cheers

Mine's got one of these fitted: http://www.maxpeedingrods.com/Mitsubishi...rbocharger.html. It was fitted before I got the truck and has been going fine for the last 3 years since I've had it. Not sure if they have a uk supplier, or if you just order direct from their site.

Thanks for the info’. One more question. How do I know for sure which turbo I need. Can I just go by year and engine type or do I need to get a part number off the turbo itself? I see also there appears to be different power outputs, is that information I need to find out before ordering?
Really appreciate the help
Cheers

@Tugboat62 if you are unsure get the number of the turbo then contact the seller to ensure you receive the right one. Or type in your variant in the COMPATIBILITY table
