Please tell us a little about yourself and where abouts your are from.
If you wish to see more of the site , maybe The How to section of jobs members have carried out or maybe the online manuals then please upgrade your membership. It is completely free and all we ask is that you Private Message Admin your name, address and postcode ( look for the box marked ' Private Messages ' in the top light blue banner, about a third of the way across). we only ask you to do this as it discourages ' spammers ' and ensures only genuine members are upgraded. Your details will never be used for anything else and never passed to anyone else.
Please Note : On average your upgrade should take up to 48 hrs but there are times when it may take longer, please be patient but Admin does it in their spare time
If you have any pressing questions then please ask in the ' Ask Admin /Moderators ' section. Most of the upgraded members have access to this section. We do ask , when posting , that you can supply some basic information about your truck to enable a more focused answer. If you are unsure of which series/mark of L200 you have please follow this link Identifying your ' Series ' of L200
If we could also just ask you to stick a pin in our map for an approx location then our regional reps, when organising events , will be able to contact people within their areas
Adding yourself to the forum Map
Could just let us know where you heard about the L200Forum from please that would be great.
How did you find the L200Forum?
Many Thanks

Hi Paul
if you turn on the ignition and wait for the glow plug light to go out, shortly after you'll hear a click from the relay, turn the ignition off and do the same again but start it after the click. If it starts easier then it's a surefire sign of the glowplugs on their way out.

Welcome PAul
If you had a waft of greyish smoke once you got it started then chances are its glow plugs , if not possibly air leak in the fuel lines from possibly corroded ' stack pipes' on the fuel tank

while they are doing the cam belt , get them to check for delamination on the bottom pulley as they have been known to deteriorate and fail
the pulley is made of two parts separated by a rubber bit and this bit fails over time
worth getting it done if it's on it's way out and they are doing the belts anyway

Due to age of vehicle , waterpump also whilst its all off would be a good idea as a precautionary measure

Hi All thanks for the add!
I have recently bought a 2006 l200.
It has 90k miles and has had cambelt changed recently.
First gear and reverse are a pain in the arse when the engine is cold. When it warms up its fine so i'm hoping it just needs the gear oil changed.
Is there somewhere i can find out what oil and how to change the oil?
Thanks

what shape is the truck bud as 2006 was change over year ?
we call the older ones classics (with square shaped rear doors)
the newer ones are prams (big curve on the rear doors)
is yours an auto or a manual ?

@Nick @animal @tmw4562 @pcat may be able to tell you which oil you need , I think it's ep75w90 or something like that
mine is harder to get into first gear when it's cold ......... despite having gearbox oil changed
only really notice it when I try and select first while moving
cant tell you what oil is in mine as I bunged it in the garage to have it done while they were doing the belts and stuff
