Drivinv the other day l200 2007 56 plate new shape went in to limp mode eml and tc light on. Turn off staft up eml light drives fine.
Diagnostic gave code p1272.
Was ok for few days so put it down to the snow and cold weather.
Any ideas what to check.
Few months ago it had new scv valve fuel rail valve filter and housing changed.

Mine threw up this code a few years ago, replaced the Suction Control Valve and it was all good, about £100 from Milners

Is the SCV relatively easy to fit, or is it a job for a mechanic, and if so, what are they likely to charge / how many hours would it take them to do it?

Easy job to do 2 bolts a gasket and wire.
Replaced mine few months ago along with many other fuel related parts.
What do i need check on vacuum and fuel side pcat

should take a mechanic no more than 30mins, if you can hold an allen key, it should take you no more than an hour if its the first time under the bonnet of your l200. You need to work out whether it is 100% the scv.

I would say yes, but from what Pcat said earlier, it must throw up that code for the rail pressure sensor too?

Mines shown up code 1272 but scv valve was p0093 when mine went so il be looking elsewhere as mine goes in limp mode and when scv failed itd cut out and die then restart. Now it limp mode so runs at 1000rpm no more doesnt cut out.

Mine was 0093 for ages then went 1272, it was scv. Cut out randomly with no rhyme or reason.

When my scv went it just cut out. Now nine is goin in to limp mode. Got a new scv to try as the last 1 i bought has a warrenty so goin try that.

Dont think the blocked pipe put the EML on or gives a P code.
But worth checking to make sure its getting full boost.
Check iside the alloy tube where this rubber pipe meets the engine.
You may need a small drill bit or stiff wire to poke inside, also check rubber pipe for cracks / splits

Over theover the weekend cleard out the pipes and egr valve clogged up a bit. Today runnin down a dual carriageway 70mph and limp mode again on a 10 mile stretch it cut out a further 3 times.and on way home a further 4 times. Diagnoatics is fetching up 2 faults this time p1272 anf p0093.
Anybfurther advice on wat to change

0093 is fuel leak, other one is rail pressure limiter
I would take it to the professionals common rail stuff is beyond me
