hi folks, need some advice please,
recently purchased l200 warrior 2006 with 105000 miles, noticed temperature gauge was rising then found water from the radiator backfilling into the header tank only when been driven, ive left it ticking over for hours and theres no sign of any coolant coming out of top of radiator.
checked the radiator cap, flushed the radiator put new coolant in , read lots of different posts from radiator cover to cracker head or gasket, going in for pressure test tomorrow, anyone else had anything like this, could it be the water pump or thermostat?
thanks izzy
always worth checking for 'air locks' and changing the rad cap and flushing everything through but more often than not it's the head gasket that's gone
bubbles in the overflow tank can only be produced by pressure, usually from the exhaust gasses entering the system somewhere
quite often this happens on new ownership as the previous owner has sold it (usually cheaper than other examples) in order to get rid of the problem rather than fix it

the earlier shape K74 L200s were more prone to head gasket failure although the first couple of years of production new shape (2006-2008ish) have had their share of head issues. Good news is that once done correctly they are usually good to go afterwards.
If it's going in the garage , see if they'll do a 'sniff test' too as that should find any exhaust gasses where they shouldn't be
