Morning all,
Anyone ever fit an SJS Adveturer canopy? It has an interior light and a brake light mounted in the spoiler, from the canopy it has 3 wires dangling down Red, Black and Brown, the red and black I know will fit straight to the spare wires behind the offside rear light cluster however is the brown an earth? I am presuming it is and can it be earthed on to the bed/tub or does it need a better earth?
Any info on this will be of help and I'll sort it this coming weekend. Can not find anything online about it.
James.

If you have an interior light then surely you need a permanent live feed to it. I would suspect the one of the wires is permanent live, one live when brakes are on and one is earth. No idea which it is!
I have a similar need for a top I have just bought (no brake light) so if anyone knows where a permanent live might be at the front of the load space I would like to hear.

Did it not come with instructions? If it has an interior light then I would assume:
Red- Permanent live for interior light.
Brown- Brake light feed
Black- Chassis Ground

No instructions as it was 3rd hand, I’ve emailed the company but no joy yet. If no joy I’m just going to experiment and try what you said Paddy.

To satisfy closure of this thread all done, brown wire was indeed direct to brake light feed, the red and black wires were standard wiring already set up on the loom, so all working great. Thank you for the responses and help on the matter.
